c.1950 Oscar Schmidt Autoharp

It's not often I see two autoharps through the shop in a month, but this is the second one this month and it, too, is in great shape considering its age. This is a '50s Oscar Schmidt, and while it could use a good cleaning with the strings removed, it's in otherwise excellent condition and has a good, vibrant tone.

Cute decal. Also check out the cool yellow pinstriping along the outer edge.

Three of the plastic buttons were missing so I ground-down the bottom of strap buttons and installed them instead. They feel remarkably natural under the fingers since they're concave like the originals.

The included tuning wrench even has its original sales packet.

...and a worn but working chip case, too.
