This guitar is essentially identical to a Gibson Recording King M-5 model except that it's finished natural, much like the also Gibson-made Kalamazoo Oriole models from the early 1940s.
This is a customer's instrument (hence, not for sale) and my work on it included a fret level/dress, cleaning, and light setup. It has some finish blush all along the edges of the top which is unfortunate but not so noticeable.

Like the similar Recording King model, this sports a solid spruce top, solid maple sides, and a laminate maple back. The neck is mahogany, in a light v-shape, and has a truss rod. Both the bridge (adjustable) and fretboard are rosewood, though I think the bridge saddle is a replacement.
Everything appears to be original on this guitar save that bridge topper and maybe the tailpiece, which is a peculiar "compensated" type and very classy.

Original bone nut, cool Waverly tuners, truss cover.

Profusely cool pearl inlays in the board. Board is bound as well as the top, back, and the pickguard.

Good sturdy bridge.

Here's that "Straton Compensator" tailpiece up close.

Don't you love that firestripe celluloid pickguard and "checker" purfling?

This guitar is both classy-looking and gorgeous-sounding as well. It has a very similar tone to this KGN-32 I worked on recently (click for link) but more gutsy and loud.

Nice flamed maple sides.

Pretty flamed maple back.

Original Waverly tuners work great!

Good heel join.

Again, the cool tailpiece -- which has also had a repair during its lifetime.
