c.1920 Columbia Soprano Ukulele

This c.1915-1920 Columbia uke sports all-solid mahogany construction, all-original hardware, and glorious, full, sweet sound. It also plays great and feels great... and has some serious playwear mojo (check out how the finish has been "polished" by playwear on the upper bout).

Nice Grover period tuners with bakelite buttons.

Though you can't see it here, the neck is a 3-piece mahogany neck... and these are bar frets, like on old Martins or Vega instruments.

Really nice looking, warm-toned mahogany. The finish is muted and was probably satin when first put together.

Nice, simply inlaid wood rosette.

Good bridge.

Label.

Back of headstock...

Back.

A couple repaired hairlines on the top and back, but they're of no consequence.

Here you can see that 3-piece neck. Very nice.

Note how the back runs over the neck's foot -- in an imitation of Spanish heel design, though this is a dowel-joined neck.

One-piece side(s)! I've seen this only one a few old brands, Columbias being the ones I see it on most.
